About MARTIN

Perth-based author Martin Livings’ short stories have been appearing in a variety of publications since 1992.  His work has appeared in journals including Eidolon, Aurealis and Andromeda Spaceways In-Flight Magazine, and also in many highly acclaimed local anthologies, such as Agog Press' Daikaiju, Ticonderoga Publications’ Dead Red Heart and Brimstone Press’ Macabre.  He has also had stories in prestigious international anthologies, including Morrigan Books' Grants Pass and Scenes from the Second Storey and Apex Books’ Close Encounters of the Urban Kind

Martin's first novel, Carnies, was published by Hachette Livre Australia in 2006, and has recently been optioned as a feature film by South Australian media production company Creative Axis. 

He has been nominated a number of times for the Ditmar, Aurealis and Australian Shadows awards, and has won two Western Australian Science Fiction Foundation (or 'Tin Duck') awards, one for Carnies and one in 1996 for his short story in Eidolon, “Living With the Dead”, which provides the title for this upcoming debut collection.
